What type of services do you perform?

We install, test, certify, repair, and replace both new and existing backflow prevention devices.

WHY DO I NEED A BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICE?

After water passes through a water meter into a home or business, it must be prevented from flowing back into the main water supply. Backflow prevention devices are designed to maintain water quality by preventing this reversal of flow and keeping any potential pollutants or contaminates from entering the water supply.  These devices play an essential role in protecting the integrity of our water systems and helping to keep our drinking water clean and safe.

WHY DO I NEED MY DEVICE TESTED?

Backflow prevention devices must be tested annually to ensure they are functioning properly.  Your water district has the task of determining where these devices are needed and maintaining records on each device to ensure the safety of our water systems. You can choose to have one of our certified testers automatically test your device each year, and we will ensure that proper forms are filed with your water district on your behalf.

HOW DO YOU PERFORM A BACKFLOW TEST?

The testing procedure is specific to the type of backflow prevention device being certified.  In general, a certified tester will connect to the customer’s backflow prevention device with a differential testing gauge that is approved by a controlling agency. We then proceed to place the device under conditions that resemble a backflow event.  If all portions of the test pass then we certify the device and send a report to your water agency.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY DEVICE FAILS THE ANNUAL TEST?

Backflow prevention devices can fail for a variety of reasons.  When a device fails we will be in contact with you, and our technicians will attempt to fix the problem at the lowest possible cost. Our field testers carry common repair parts and tools with them so that repairs can be made on the spot if the customer requests us to do so.

HOW WILL THE WATER DISTRICT KNOW THAT MY DEVICE HAS BEEN TESTED?

Upon completion of your testing, we will send the appropriate paperwork to the local water authorities.  You will also receive a copy of the test results in the mail.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT HAVE MY BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICE TESTED?

If for some reason you do not test your backflow assembly you may be cited and/or fined for non-compliance. Your water service may also be suspended or terminated to protect the public water system. At Temecula Valley Backflow, we have systems in place to help our customers avoid these problems and penalties.

ARE YOU LICENSED, BONDED AND INSURED?

We are fully licensed with the Contractor’s State License Board (CL#927617) and bonded.  Our testers maintain certifications to test in Riverside County, and with the American Water Works Association (AWWA). We also carry liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000, Workers’ Compensation insurance in the amount of $1,000,000, and Automobile Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000. When needed, we can add your company and properties as certificate holders/additional insureds at no charge.
